L'espressione "PIANTARE IN ASSO" ha origine nel mito greco, nella mitologia classica. Il significato in italiano è "abbandonare", "lasciare", "andare via senza dare spiegazione".
 Tutto ha origine nella spedizione dell'eroe Teseo a Creta per uccidere il Minotauro, e liberare Atene dalla schiavitù annuale del sacrificio umano di 14 giovani (7 fanciulle e 7 fanciulli). Teseo a Creta incontra la bellissima  Arianna la figlia del re Minosse che si innamora di Teseo e con la potente forza dell'amore gli da il filo che gli permetterà di entrare ed uscire dal labirinto salvando la vita. Dopo l'uccisione del Minotauro Teseo prende la strada del ritorno ad Atene, porta con se Arianna ma non essendo interessato alla bellezza l'abbandona nell'isola di Nasso. Da quì ha origine il nostro modo di dire italiano: "PIANTARE IN ASSO".
Deformazione della lingua parlata ma l'asso delle carte da gioco non c'entra niente.

Il mito poi prosegue per strade e destini inaspettati e la storia dei personaggi prosegue in modo imprevisto agli uomini, conosciuto solo dagli Dei.

Teseo tornando in patria troverà il lutto della morte del padre Egeo.

Arianna abbandonata nell'isola di Nasso verrà successivamente soccorsa da Dioniso (Bacco per i romani) che la fece sua sposa.

Alles hat seinen Ursprung in der Expedition des Helden Theseus den Minotaurus getötet in Kreta, Athen und frei von der Knechtschaft der jährlichen Menschenopfer von 14 jungen (7 Mädchen und 7 Jungen). Theseus auf Kreta lernt die schöne Ariadne, die Tochter von König Minos und Theseus, verliebt sich in die gewaltige Kraft der Liebe auf den Thread, damit er zu betreten und verlassen das Labyrinth durch sein Leben gerettet werden. Nach der Tötung des Minotaurus, Theseus nimmt die Straße nach Athen zurück, bringt Ariadne mit ihm nicht in die Schönheit der Blätter auf der Insel Naxos interessiert. Von hier aus ergibt sich die Art, wie wir sprechen Italienisch, "ditched".
